Who we are

This website belongs to Capitano Paleokastritsa Rent a Boat, a boat rental and private boat tour business operating from Alipa Port in Paleokastritsa, Corfu.

That number is the way to reach us about anything in this policy, by call or by WhatsApp.

What this policy covers

It covers this website and the enquiries that reach us through it. Where the website hands you over to another company's service — WhatsApp, Google, Facebook — that company's own privacy terms apply to what happens there, and we say so at each point below.

The enquiry form

The form in the booking section does not send anything to us, and there is no server behind it. What you type stays in your browser and is used only to assemble a WhatsApp message. That message may contain:

• your name
• your preferred date
• the number of people
• which experience you chose — boat rental or a private tour with a skipper
• the boat you picked, if a boat selection is offered
• anything you add in the optional message field

When you choose Send on WhatsApp, you are taken to WhatsApp with that message already written. Nothing has been sent at that point. You decide whether to send it, and you can edit or discard it first.

Once you are in WhatsApp, what happens to your message and your phone number is governed by WhatsApp and Meta's own privacy practices, not by us. We have no control over their processing.

Contacting us directly

If you message us on WhatsApp, call us, or write to us through our social media page, we use what you choose to tell us in order to reply to you, talk through rental or tour details, discuss availability, and handle the booking-related conversation you asked for.

We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not send marketing messages.

How long we keep things

We keep enquiry conversations only for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry, to manage any booking or service communication that follows from it, and to meet obligations that apply to us under law.

Other services this site touches

The site is deliberately built to contact as few outside companies as possible. These are the ones involved:

• WhatsApp and Meta — every enquiry button and the form's send button take you to WhatsApp. From that point you are using Meta's service under their terms.
• Google Maps — no map loads when a page opens. The Find us section shows our address in a panel of our own, and Google Maps is only loaded into the page if you press View map. Choosing Get Directions likewise opens Google in a new tab. Until you do one of those two things, Google Maps is not contacted at all.
• Facebook — our Facebook page is a plain link. Facebook is contacted only if you follow it.
• Google reviews — the reviews shown on this site are copied text. If a link to the original listing is provided, following it takes you to Google.
• Google Fonts — the site's typefaces are loaded from Google's font service, so your browser contacts Google to fetch them when a page opens, without you having to do anything.

Apart from the fonts, nothing on this site reaches out to another company on its own — everything else happens only because you chose to follow a link.

Cookies and tracking

As this website is currently configured, it sets no analytics cookies and no advertising cookies of its own. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixel, and no map loading in the background — the map appears only if you press View map, and Google may set its own cookies at that point. That is also why you are not being asked to accept or reject cookies: there is nothing optional here to consent to until you choose it.

Your browser will still do ordinary things of its own accord, and any outside service you choose to open — WhatsApp, Google, Facebook — behaves according to its own rules once you are there.

If optional analytics or tracking technologies are added later, this policy will be reviewed and the necessary consent controls put in place before anything of that kind is switched on.

Your rights

Data protection law may give you rights over personal information we hold about you, including the right to ask for access to it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to ask us to restrict how we use it, and to object to our using it.
